Dear Recruiting Manager,

I am writing to apply for the Engineering & Safety, Technical Documentation internship at Universal Orlando. I am currently an intended English - Technical Communications major at the University of Central Florida, and I hope to pursue a career in technical writing. I am eager to expand my skill set related to instructional design and documentation. My strong research skills, desire to work and lead teams, and analytical thinking ability will allow me to be a strong contributor to an engineering and safety team at Universal Orlando.

I am particularly drawn towards an internship at Universal because it will give me the opportunity to enhance my skill set in technical communication in an environment that manages rides and other immersive experiences. I am eager to use my prior experience with detailing processes and using proper communication to assist Universal in its mission to create world-class experiences for all visitors.

My experiences with teamwork and comprehensive research have prepared me to be a successful technical writer. As an intern at Crank Creative, I was responsible for coming up with compelling captions for social media and researching the history of influencers. Through this experience, I learned how to communicate important information briefly, which I know will be especially valuable in my work for writing clear instructions. After volunteering at Pet Alliance, I now understand the importance of daily procedures and am prepared to work with a team composed of different kinds of people.

As an intern at Universal, I am excited about the opportunity to learn from professionals to improve the quality of my work.
